About This Role

This is a short-term consultancy role with a Swiss nonprofit deeply rooted in child rights and inclusive education. Unlike a typical employee position, you will be engaged to deliver a specific output or study that informs PCF’s ongoing primary education projects in Ethiopia. The role suits an experienced education specialist who can work independently, liaise with local partner organizations, and produce actionable recommendations within a defined timeframe.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The call is targeting a senior-level consultant with 5–8 years of experience, implying the organization needs someone who can hit the ground running without extensive onboarding. The emphasis on “building with us” suggests PCF values collaborative, field-informed expertise rather than purely academic input. They are likely looking for proven ability to assess education quality, teacher training, or emergency learning continuity in the Ethiopian context.

How to Approach This Application

Do not just list your CV credentials. Craft a proposal that demonstrates understanding of PCF’s focus areas—safe learning environments, inclusive education, and emergency response. Show evidence of past consultancy work with NGOs in Ethiopia, especially if you have worked with local partner organizations. Highlight how your findings will directly improve project implementation, not just produce a report.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best for an independent education consultant with strong field experience in Ethiopian primary education and a track record of short-term assignments with international NGOs. It is moderately competitive, as PCF is a niche foundation, but your proposal’s relevance to their specific project goals will set you apart.

Will you build with us?

In Ethiopia, PCF works with local partner organizations to improve access to inclusive and equitable quality primary education. The projects of PCF and its three partner organisations in Ethiopia focus on creating safe learning environments, enhancing teaching skills, and ensuring continuity of education in emergencies.

After the training they are expected to cascade the training to schoolteachers in the project schools.
