About This Role
This role places you at the intersection of rehabilitation and specialized eye care within a respected Ethiopian NGO. You will be responsible for direct patient management, from initial assessment through treatment and record-keeping, specifically within an eye care unit. It is ideal for a nurse who values structured clinical protocols and wants to apply their skills in a mission-driven, rehabilitation-focused setting rather than a high-volume general hospital.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The requirement for 3-5 years of experience and a renewed professional license signals that the employer expects independent clinical judgment and full competency in standard nursing procedures from day one. They are seeking a nurse who can work with minimal supervision in a specialized unit, not a recent graduate needing extensive training. The focus on “ensuring clients receive the right treatments” implies a need for meticulous attention to detail and strong patient assessment skills.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should highlight specific experience with eye care or surgical assisting, as this post involves working under the head of an eye care unit. Emphasize any familiarity with infection control protocols and patient record management, as these are central to the duties listed. Since Cheshire Ethiopia operates in the disability and rehabilitation sector, mentioning any experience with vulnerable populations or multidisciplinary care teams will strengthen your candidacy.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a mid-career nurse with a stable work history who is comfortable in a specialized, low-acuity clinical environment. Competition is moderate, as the position offers good professional structure within a reputable NGO, but the Sidama location may narrow the applicant pool.
