Newborn, Child health and Development Program Junior Technical Assistance
School of Public Health-AAU- Center for Implementation Sciences (CIS)About This Role
This is a high-stakes embedded advisory role, not a typical entry-level position. You will work inside the Ministry of Health, acting as a bridge between academic research at Addis Ababa University and real-world policy execution. It suits a public health professional who thrives on navigating government systems and turning evidence into actionable plans, rather than just conducting analysis from a distance.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listing seeks someone who can translate complex health data into operational guidance for ministry officials. This implies deep familiarity with Ethiopia's health extension program and immunization supply chains, plus the political acumen to advise senior executives. Expect the employer to prioritize candidates who have already worked at the woreda or zonal level, not just university research.
How to Approach This Application
Your application must prove you can operate within bureaucratic structures while driving results. Emphasize specific examples where you influenced policy or program design, not just data collection. Mention any experience with ministry reporting templates, annual health sector plans, or coordination with international partners like UNICEF or WHO. The employer will likely value a cover letter that names current MoH priorities for newborn health.
