About This Role

This role is the operational engine behind an international NGO’s supply chain in Ethiopia. As Purchase Officer, you will not simply buy goods; you will ensure every transaction aligns with strict donor and organizational compliance standards. It suits a detail-oriented professional who can balance speed with procedural rigor, working at the intersection of program needs and logistics governance.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The listing implies the employer seeks someone who combines entry-level procurement experience with a strong grasp of compliance documentation. Rather than just sourcing items, you must be comfortable maintaining price databases, managing supplier files, and archiving purchase histories—indicating that audit readiness is as valued as negotiation skills. The ideal candidate likely has familiarity with NGO procurement cycles and can handle multiple purchase requests without losing procedural accuracy.

How to Approach This Application

Emphasize your ability to follow structured procurement protocols, not just your sourcing speed. Highlight any experience with price market analysis, supplier record management, or donor-funded purchase procedures. Since the role involves cross-checking requests against approvals, mention examples of how you verified documentation or ensured purchases matched specifications. The employer will prioritize candidates who demonstrate meticulous record-keeping habits.
