Job Title:         Security Service Operation Manager

Reports to:      Employment Business Operation Director

Location:         Head Office, Addis Ababa

  1. Job Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Employment Business Operation Director, the Security Services operation division manager plans, organizes, leads and controls security guard activities of the clients; Conducts studies to improve service quality of security services and forwards recommendations. Supports in orientation of Security guards for security service stations to fulfill the staff requirements of customer organizations; supervises the patrolling activities of the staff deployed to duty stations of customer organizations; prepares and submits periodic reports.

  2. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    1. In consultation with the immediate supervisor plans, organizes, directs and controls security & other outsourced services. Conducts studies to improve service quality of security and forwards recommendations as necessary

    2. Supports in recruitment of security guards for services stations to fulfill the staff requirements of customer organizations on job positions outsourced to the Company as specified in the respective contractual agreements;

    3. Deploys and relocates security service supervisors to duty stations in Addis Ababa, monitors their activities and ensures delivery of effective and efficient security service in accordance with contractual agreements entered into with customer organizations;

    4. Follows up fulfillment of the logistical needs of the security   staff in collaboration with concerned work units  of the Company;

    5. Facilitates induction, equipment and deployment of newly recruited security staffs to service stations; 

    6. Follows up the probationary period performance of   subordinates who are under his direct supervision  and reports the assessment outcomes accordingly;

    7. Follows up implementation of procedures in connection with remuneration, promotion, transfer, reassignment, performance management, discipline and other personnel actions of security  staffs; 

    8. Reviews grievances and recommends systems to ensure peaceful industrial relation among service rendering staffs , the company and its client;

    9. In consultation with branches ensures preparation of annual leave plan to security  staffs.

    10. Ensures that a personnel database of outsourced service rendering  staffs deployed to different clients is properly maintained and updated;

    11. Conducts training need assessment, deliver induction training to new recruits Supports in administering appropriate trainings to security  staff in collaboration with concerned  work units.

    12. Renders technical support in business deals with customer organizations;

    13. Ensure and follows up the on time  collection of collectable service charges from client organizations.

    14. Develops a system of reinforcing teamwork and team spirit among staff to ensure collaboration and synergy.

    15. Conducts performance appraisal of  staffs under his supervision in accordance with the performance appraisal plan  and the official timeframe set to  that effect;

    16. Follows up reports on operational matters of the security service he is in charge, handles administrative issues and takes prompt action on problems reported;

    17. Makes regular visits, communicates with client organizations, identifies customer complaint and devises ways to improve service delivery. 

    18. Responds to requests of regulatory governmental agencies, ensures that periodic reports are sent to regulatory governmental offices in connection with outsourced services he is in charge with.

    19. Ensures all activities function within the objective to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations;

    20. Develops, implements and maintains improved management systems with the view to create opportunities for improvement;

    21. Utilizes resource in areas of responsibilities as provided in annual work plan and budget within authorized limits;

    22. Takes due responsibility and accountability for managing and controlling resources and property allocated for work within area of responsibility; 

    23. Identifies training needs of own section and follows up appropriate trainings and human resource development program, in accordance with the training policy of the company;

    24. Creates and maintains conducive working environment that enhances workers involvement in achieving organizational objectives

    25. Prepares regular and extraordinary performance report on the overall company’s security service operation and activities.

    26. Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

  3. Minimum Requirement

    Master’s Degree in Economics or Management or Finance or Accounting or Marketing or Military Science or other related fields Or B.A Degree in Economics or Management or Accounting or Marketing or Military Science or other related fields with 8/10 years of experience respectively of which 2 years at Job Grade 9 or 4 years at job grade 8.

Skill in the use of basic computer software applications

    Master’s Degree in Economics or Management or Finance or Accounting or Marketing or Military Science or other related fields Or B.A Degree in Economics or Management or Accounting or Marketing or Military Science or other related fields with 8/10 years of experience respectively of which 2 years as a manager
