About This Role
This is a dual-function role that blends people management with operational logistics, typical of growing local companies that need a hands-on professional to handle both HR cycles and the physical infrastructure of the business. Based in Addis Ababa, you will be responsible for everything from hiring and employee relations to managing company vehicles, office facilities, and asset tracking. It suits a versatile HR generalist who is comfortable moving between personnel files and maintenance schedules.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The job calls for someone with 3–5 years of experience, which suggests the employer wants a candidate who has already mastered routine HR tasks and can work independently without close supervision. The inclusion of “general services” signals a need for organizational grit—someone who can coordinate fleet logistics, oversee cleaning and security services, and ensure compliance with local labor laws. They are seeking a practical problem-solver, not just a policy expert.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should highlight concrete examples where you have managed both HR processes and administrative operations simultaneously. Emphasize any experience with asset management, vendor contracts, or fleet coordination as much as your recruitment and employee relations work. The employer likely values reliability and efficiency over innovation, so frame your past achievements around cost-saving, compliance, and smooth daily operations.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced HR officer who enjoys variety and does not mind rolling up their sleeves for operational tasks. It is moderately competitive—local companies often value candidates who can demonstrate loyalty and a track record of handling multiple responsibilities without complaint.
