About This Role
This is a high-impact executive coordination role bridging a major non-communicable disease initiative between the Ethiopian Diabetes Association and the Federal Ministry of Health. Rather than routine project management, the position involves steering a nationally scaled, four-year integrated diabetes and hypertension program across twelve regions and two city administrations. It suits a senior professional with deep public health systems experience and the diplomatic skill to align diverse stakeholders at the federal level.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listed qualifications likely emphasize advanced project management credentials, extensive experience in public health program coordination, and familiarity with Ethiopian primary health care structures. What this signals is a need for someone who can navigate bureaucratic workflows and maintain accountability across multiple regional health bureaus, not just a standard coordinator but a systems integrator.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should foreground specific examples of managing multi-regional, government-partnered health projects in Ethiopia. Emphasize your understanding of the primary health care system, experience with World Diabetes Foundation or similar donor reporting, and proven ability to liaise between NGOs and the FMOH. Avoid generic project management language; instead, show you grasp the political and logistical complexity of scaling integrated NCD services nationally.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a seasoned public health program director with prior government collaboration experience and a track record in NCD coordination. Given the seniority, national scope, and partnership with the FMOH, competition will be strong among experienced professionals in Ethiopia’s health development sector.
