About This Role

This is not a traditional employee role—it is an open call for organizations to become pre-qualified vehicle rental service providers for the Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA). The successful applicant will supply transportation services to support NEWA’s field operations, advocacy events, and partner coordination across Addis Ababa. This opportunity suits established rental firms or transport cooperatives that can offer reliable, well-maintained vehicles and professional drivers on a contractual basis.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The call targets organizations, not individuals, meaning the applicant must be a legally registered entity with a proven track record in vehicle rental. While no explicit fleet size is stated, the emphasis on pre-qualification suggests NEWA values consistency, safety, and timely service over sheer volume. Expect the selection process to prioritize organizations with experience serving NGOs or development partners, as familiarity with project logistics and reporting is likely valued.

How to Approach This Application

Your submission must demonstrate organizational capacity—attach valid business licenses, vehicle registration documents, proof of insurance, and at least two references from previous clients, preferably in the development sector. Highlight your fleet’s condition, driver qualifications, and any safety or maintenance protocols. Since NEWA is building a database for ongoing use, emphasize your ability to respond quickly to short-notice requests and your willingness to adhere to their standard terms and invoicing procedures.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best suited for established vehicle rental companies or transport service providers with prior NGO experience and a reliable fleet. Competition will likely be moderate, as NEWA seeks multiple pre-qualified vendors, but only organizations with complete documentation and a clear service record will advance.

Background

The Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit, non-governmental national network established in 2003. NEWA brings together over 50 member associations/ organizations collectively working to advance gender equality and women’s rights across Ethiopia.

NEWA’s advocacy, networking, and operational interventions refer to its efforts in influencing policies and decision-making processes, strengthening collaboration among member organizations and stakeholders, and implementing programs and activities that promote gender equality and women’s rights.

To strengthen operational efficiency and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery, NEWA is establishing a comprehensive vendor database of pre-qualified service providers.
