About This Role

This role sits at the intersection of industrial operations and environmental stewardship within one of Ethiopia’s largest FMCG breweries. The operator is not just running machinery — they ensure the brewery’s license to operate by managing wastewater treatment in compliance with both local regulations and HEINEKEN’s strict global sustainability standards. It’s a hands-on, technically demanding position suited for professionals who understand that industrial water treatment directly impacts production continuity and corporate reputation.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The emphasis on 3–5 years of experience suggests the employer expects someone who can independently handle routine operations, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and respond to process upsets without constant supervision. The role implies a need for familiarity with biological treatment systems, chemical dosing, and effluent monitoring — not just general mechanical skills. HEINEKEN is likely looking for a candidate who has worked in food and beverage or similar industrial wastewater settings, where hygiene and environmental compliance are non-negotiable.

How to Approach This Application

In your cover letter and interview, frame your experience around reliability and safety compliance. Highlight specific examples of maintaining treatment parameters within regulatory limits, reducing water consumption, or preventing environmental incidents. Since HEINEKEN values continuous improvement, mention any process optimizations you’ve contributed to — even small efficiency gains. Avoid generic statements about “teamwork”; instead, emphasize your ability to work autonomously while coordinating with production and maintenance teams.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best suited for mid-career wastewater technicians or operators with proven experience in industrial settings, especially FMCG or beverage manufacturing. Competition is likely moderate, as the position offers stable employment with a global brand, but requires specific technical expertise that narrows the candidate pool.
