About This Role
This is a senior operational leadership role within a well-established Ethiopian engineering firm, overseeing the service department’s workshop for heavy machinery and power generation equipment. The position demands hands-on authority over workflow, quality control, and team coordination, suited for a seasoned professional with deep technical grounding in earth-moving and electrical systems. It sits at the executive level, meaning the supervisor will likely report directly to top management and carry significant responsibility for asset uptime and client satisfaction.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listed requirements point to a candidate who combines technical mastery with proven supervisory experience—someone who can diagnose complex machinery faults while managing a team of technicians effectively. Emphasis on planning and scheduling implies the ideal profile includes a track record of optimizing workshop throughput and minimizing downtime. The grade level suggests the company expects a leader who can enforce safety protocols and quality standards without constant oversight, indicating a preference for self-starters with industry-specific certifications.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should highlight specific examples of leading a workshop for earth-moving equipment or generators, including metrics like reduced repair turnaround times or improved team productivity. Emphasize your ability to bridge technical expertise with managerial discipline, such as implementing preventive maintenance schedules or training junior staff. The company likely values reliability and problem-solving under pressure, so frame your experience around maintaining high safety and quality standards in a busy service environment.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced engineering professional with a background in heavy machinery service and at least 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity. Competition will be moderate but selective, given the seniority and the niche technical requirements.
