About This Role
This role places you at the financial core of a well-established travel and logistics company with over a decade of market presence. As an Accountant at Anbessa Travel, you will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of daily financial transactions, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring strict compliance with Ethiopian tax and financial regulations. This position is ideal for a mid-career accountant who values operational stability and wants to work in a sector where cash flow, foreign currency transactions, and vendor payments are high-stakes.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The employer is seeking an accountant who is not just technically proficient but also operationally reliable in a fast-paced service environment. While the listing explicitly requires experience with Peachtree Accounting software, the deeper implication is that you must be comfortable managing high-volume, time-sensitive transactions—typical in travel and car rental businesses. The 3-5 year experience range suggests they want someone who has moved beyond basic bookkeeping and can independently handle reconciliations, tax filings, and internal reporting without constant supervision.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, do not simply list your accounting software skills. Instead, demonstrate your familiarity with the specific financial challenges of the travel industry—such as handling multiple currencies, managing client deposits and refunds, or reconciling supplier payments. Emphasize any experience you have with Ethiopian tax compliance (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, and TIN registration) and provide concrete examples of how you improved accuracy or efficiency in a previous accounting role. The employer likely prioritizes candidates who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an accountant who values stability and operational depth over rapid career advancement or creative financial strategy. Given the company’s established reputation and the sector’s steady demand, competition is likely moderate—serious applicants with relevant travel industry experience will stand out.
