Chief Cook

Job Purpose:-Responsible for planning menus, overseeing the kitchen staff, and ensuring that the food meets high-quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner,

• Oversees all kitchen operations, coordinating and assisting kitchen staff as required,

• Makes adjustments to the menu based on the availability of food supplies or the current season,

• Takes stock of ingredients and equipment, and places orders to replenish stock,

• Recruits qualified new cooks that will assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen activities in collaboration with the HR Department,

• Makes sure that kitchen safety measures are met and that sanitation practices are carried out to the letter,

• supervises the regular cleaning and disinfecting of work equipment like fryers and various kitchen surfaces,

• Maintains work schedule for kitchen staff so as to ensure a smooth flow of activities in the kitchen,

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans, and kitchen scales,

• Ensures that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way,

• Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area,

• Monitors and maintain stock levels so as to place orders for supplies as at when due,

• Determines how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays,

• Coach, train and control the day to day activities of cook, assistant cook & other canteen stuff

• Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualification and Skills

Education:

• BA/Diploma in Food Preparation 

Experience:  

• 6 years of relevant Experiance 

Skils 

• Good interpersonal skills,

• Communication skills,

• Organizing and planning skills,

• Cooking skills
