Construction Manager - Power Transmission Lines
KEC INTERNATIONAL LIMITEDAbout This Role
This is a high-stakes infrastructure role requiring someone who can take full ownership of field operations for power transmission projects in Oromia’s regional towns. KEC International is a major player in power engineering, so the job suits an experienced construction professional who thrives on managing large-scale linear projects across multiple sites, not a desk-based planner.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The emphasis on "hands-on experience" signals that the employer wants a leader who has personally solved problems on live transmission line corridors, not just supervised from an office. The requirements imply the ideal candidate can balance technical know-how with the grit to enforce safety and quality in remote, logistics-challenged environments.
How to Approach This Application
Your CV should highlight specific transmission line projects you’ve delivered on time and under budget, especially those involving complex terrain or tight stakeholder coordination. In your cover letter, focus on your track record with HSE enforcement and how you’ve managed site teams across dispersed locations — employers like KEC prioritize evidence of field-level decision-making over academic credentials.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a senior construction engineer or project manager with 6+ years in power transmission, who is comfortable relocating to project sites in Oromia. It is likely competitive given KEC’s reputation, but your direct transmission line experience will be a strong differentiator.
