About This Role
This is a high-level strategic leadership role where you’ll shape the people agenda for an entire group of companies operating in South Sudan. As Group HR Manager, you will move beyond day-to-day administration to design and drive HR strategies that directly influence business outcomes, including talent acquisition, performance systems, and leadership development. The role suits an experienced HR professional who is comfortable working in a challenging and dynamic regional context, where building systems from the ground up may be necessary.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The employer is seeking a seasoned HR executive who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, indicating a need for someone with a proven track record in organizational design and workforce planning across multiple business units. The emphasis on compliance with local labor laws suggests a candidate must be adaptable to South Sudan’s regulatory environment and able to navigate cultural nuances in employee relations. This role likely requires a blend of international HR best practices and practical, on-the-ground problem-solving skills in a developing market.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should highlight specific examples of how you have designed and implemented HR strategies that improved organizational performance, not just routine HR operations. Emphasize any experience working in East Africa or similar post-conflict settings, as this demonstrates resilience and cultural adaptability. Tailor your CV to show measurable outcomes, such as reduced turnover rates, successful leadership development programs, or compliance audits passed. Since the role is based in Juba, express a clear willingness to relocate and work in a complex environment.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced HR director or senior manager who thrives on building systems and leading change in challenging contexts. It is likely competitive, but the specific location and requirement for regional expertise may narrow the applicant pool.
