About This Role

This is a behind-the-scenes coordination role that serves as the operational backbone of a company’s import-export activities. As the right hand to the logistics head, you'll be the one turning approvals, paperwork, and system entries into actual movement of goods—ideal for someone who thrives on process accuracy rather than physical handling. Working for a foreign branch in Ethiopia means you’ll also need to navigate both local regulatory systems and international compliance expectations.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The listing signals a search for someone who can combine clerical precision with basic analytical thinking—not just filing documents, but checking them for errors and cost implications. The emphasis on HS code classification and tariff calculations suggests the employer values candidates who understand how a single digit in a code can change duty costs significantly. Experience with Ethiopia’s electronic single window system is likely more important than years of experience, so practical familiarity will outweigh generic credentials.

How to Approach This Application

When applying, lead with any specific experience you have using the Ethiopia Single Window (ESW) platform—even if it was during a short-term or internship role. Prepare a one-page example of how you previously tracked shipment costs or reduced a demurrage charge, as this directly addresses the cost-control responsibility. Since this is a junior role supporting a senior manager, emphasize your ability to work under supervision while catching errors independently.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best for a detail-oriented recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to build a foundation in logistics compliance, rather than someone seeking hands-on warehouse or fleet management. Competition will be moderate—many candidates may apply, but those with actual ESW experience will stand out sharply.
