About This Role

This role is a hands-on, field-based HR generalist position embedded within the agricultural or manufacturing operations of a major state-owned enterprise. Rather than a corporate HR role, it focuses on supporting frontline teams in Shewarobit, making it ideal for a People professional who enjoys operational problem-solving and direct employee interaction. The company’s scale suggests you’ll be balancing strategic initiatives like workforce planning with day-to-day employee relations in a dynamic environment.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The listing implies a need for someone who can independently manage the full HR lifecycle in a semi-autonomous location, so expect the employer to prioritize candidates with proven experience in performance management, policy enforcement, and headcount planning. Beyond the stated 3-5 years, they likely seek a professional who can build trust with both managers and workers in a leaf operations setting, which demands strong interpersonal skills and comfort with ambiguity.

How to Approach This Application

Emphasize any experience you have supporting operational or field-based teams, especially in manufacturing or agriculture. Tailor your CV to highlight specific examples of workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, or conflict resolution in a decentralized setting. Since this is a supervisory role at a state-owned enterprise, demonstrating familiarity with Ethiopian labor law and company policy compliance will strengthen your application.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

Best suited for an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a hands-on, operational environment and is comfortable working outside Addis Ababa. Competition is moderate, as the location and sector may narrow the applicant pool, but candidates with direct leaf or factory HR experience will stand out.
