Senior Accountant

LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem, Hawassa and Bahir Dar. We are looking to recruit Senior Accountant to join On Behalf of Our Client.

Background of the role:
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, prepare financial reports, maintain accounting records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will support financial decision-making by providing accurate financial information and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance when needed.
• Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and records.
• Support management with financial planning and reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA is an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Leadership and team management skills.
