About This Role
This is a senior-level operational HR leadership role within an established Ethiopian food manufacturing company. Rather than a generalist position, it focuses heavily on building and enforcing HR systems, policies, and compliance frameworks in a fast-paced industrial environment. It suits an experienced HR professional who thrives on process improvement, employee relations, and driving structure into a growing organization.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The employer is not simply looking for someone with HR years; they need a candidate who has actively designed and implemented HR policies and SOPs from scratch or within a structured setting. The emphasis on performance management and grievance handling suggests the role requires strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to balance firmness with fairness. Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings will be a distinct advantage, as labor law compliance and disciplinary processes are often more complex in this sector.
How to Approach This Application
Your CV and cover letter should highlight specific examples of policy development, SOP creation, and performance management system implementation you have led. Emphasize any experience handling employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions or grievance resolutions, with measurable outcomes. Since the role is urgent, express your availability for an early start and demonstrate your ability to hit the ground running without extensive onboarding.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced HR officer ready to step into a senior standalone function, likely with 5+ years in HR operations. It is expected to be moderately competitive, with preference given to candidates who have worked in manufacturing, FMCG, or similar regulated industries in Ethiopia.
