About This Role
This role places you as the operational backbone of the organization’s people strategy, not just a processor of paperwork. You will be expected to connect HR functions directly to business goals, meaning your work will influence how the company grows and retains talent. It suits an experienced HR professional who is comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on execution in a structured, compliance-focused environment.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The implied profile is someone who has moved beyond basic HR administration into true partnership with management. You are expected to have a firm grasp of Ethiopian labor law, performance system design, and compensation structuring, not just familiarity. The employer is looking for a candidate who can independently build and refine HR frameworks, not just follow existing ones.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize specific examples where you have redesigned an HR process or policy to improve efficiency or compliance. Highlight any experience with performance management overhauls or salary review cycles, as these are core to the role. Prepare to discuss how you have managed employee relations in a local context, as the employer will prioritize candidates who understand the nuances of the Ethiopian labor market.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best for an HR generalist with at least five years of progressive experience who is ready to own the full function. Given the seniority and the clear strategic scope, competition will be moderate but focused on candidates with proven policy development and labor law expertise.
