About This Role
This is a hands-on operational accounting role in Addis Ababa’s growing specialty coffee sector, not a strategic finance position. The job suits a meticulous, trustworthy professional who thrives on daily transaction accuracy, payment processing, and cash management. Ephtah is a small but ambitious business, so expect close collaboration with the Head of Finance and real ownership over day-to-day books.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The employer is looking for someone with 1–3 years of experience who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision in routine accounting tasks. Proficiency with an ERP system is implied, but more importantly, they value dependability and a strong ethical approach to handling cash and sensitive financial data. This is not a role for those seeking broad strategic exposure—it is about precision and consistency in execution.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize your experience with ERP software and any track record of error-free transaction entry or cash reconciliation. In your cover letter, highlight specific examples of maintaining accurate ledgers or resolving discrepancies in a fast-paced environment. The employer likely prioritizes trustworthiness and attention to detail over advanced certifications, so frame your reliability as your strongest asset.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an early-career accountant who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work in a dynamic business. Competition will be moderate given the coffee sector’s appeal, but your candidacy stands out if you can demonstrate consistency and a clean financial record.
