About This Role

This is a senior-level quantity engineering role at a well-established Ethiopian consultancy, focused on the financial and material oversight of construction projects. You will act as the bridge between design intent and on-site execution, ensuring that contractor payments, material quantities, and cost estimates are accurate and aligned with project specifications. It suits an experienced professional who enjoys detailed analytical work and can hold contractors accountable through rigorous documentation.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The posting seeks someone with 5-8 years of experience, indicating the employer values proven judgment over raw potential. The emphasis on analyzing contractor payment requests and price adjustments suggests you must be comfortable with contract administration and financial reconciliation, not just basic quantity takeoffs. Expect to work closely with design teams, so fluency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings is non-negotiable.

How to Approach This Application

Highlight specific examples where you have resolved payment disputes or identified cost-saving opportunities through accurate quantity analysis. Emphasize your familiarity with Ethiopian construction standards, price adjustment formulas, and local procurement practices. Since the role involves collaboration with multiple stakeholders, prepare to show how you have communicated complex cost data to non-financial team members.
