About This Role

This is a behind-the-scenes role that powers data-driven decision-making for a multi-country development program. As a MERL Analyst, you will not merely track indicators—you will translate raw field data into actionable insights that shape program strategy and donor reporting. The position suits a methodical professional who enjoys working with numbers and narratives, ideally someone who thrives in a regional coordination function rather than a single-site project.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The employer is seeking a professional who can bridge technical monitoring frameworks with real-world implementation challenges. While the listing implies three to five years of experience, the real emphasis is on analytical rigor and the ability to handle multi-country data flows without losing accuracy. They likely value candidates who have worked with logical frameworks, data quality assurance protocols, and donor-specific reporting standards—not just someone who has collected surveys.

How to Approach This Application

Focus your application on demonstrating how you have turned data into decisions in previous roles. Provide a concrete example where your analysis influenced a programmatic shift or improved reporting efficiency. Since FC Africa operates across agriculture, manufacturing, and services, highlight any cross-sector experience and your comfort with regional or multi-site data aggregation. Avoid generic statements about loving data—instead, show you understand the stakes of poor data in donor-funded programs.
